
How to Become a Member- An Invitation to Join
Thinking of becoming a member or already a member? Association members have the ability to update their own directory information, post job listings, update this site with ongoing promotions, and download resources and the latest newsletter.How to Become a Member: You are welcome to apply for membership within the Assets Alliance if you meet the following three criteria:
- You have had direct experience as a practitioner designing, establishing, staffing, or managing an IDA or asset-building initiative.
- You have provided technical assistance (paid or voluntary) to IDA or asset-building initiatives.
- You are currently in the position to provide technical assistance in the IDA and asset-building field.
The following are examples of initiatives/programs that are included in asset-building.
+ Homeownership Training, Counseling and Incentive Programs
+ Microenterprise Training and Products
+ Community Cooperative Enterprises (for profit business that feeds surplus cash back to meeting community needs)
+ Earned Income Tax Credit/Free Tax Preparation Initiatives
+ Financial Education
+ Links to or provision of affordable financial products
+ Savings and match programs for children and youth
+ Asset protection services/anti-predatory lending initiatives
+ Access to public benefits
+ Access to retirement benefits (employer-sponsored or otherwise)
+ Post-secondary education supports
+ Credit counseling/debt management services
